Day 1 St Martin's to Penzance

We are off again on a cruise holiday around the British Isles but first we have to make our way to Poole where we join the cruise ship.  This morning we finished packing and did all the last minute jobs which we thought needed dong.  We caught a 1230 jet boat from Lower Town quay, the sea was calm and it was dry after having been misty/drizzly at times in the morning.  When we arrived on St Marys the Scillonian was already docked but as we were
Scillonian with St Mary's Lifeboat
not leaving until 1630 we decided to get some lunch at the Kavorna café and do a few jobs before boarding.  When it came to boarding time we found we had a security check for all passengers.  They do not do it very often but us and our luggage were scanned.  It is just as well they don't do it when the ship is busy!  Once on board we had a very smooth voyage with some dolphins being spotted as we approached Penzance.
Once we had collected the luggage, we had a taxi to the Longboat Inn which is near the station and we had arranged B & B.  Alan and Heather joined us there for a dinner soon afterwards.  We had a pleasant meal and catch-up before going to the flat for a coffee and soon retiring for an early night.  So all had gone to plan on the first stage of our journey.
