The view from our window |
It was a lovely day when we woke up in the Gower. Ian, Ruth and family were due to arrive late afternoon and so we had most of the day to explore our surroundings. The view from our bedroom window was fantastic - the world renowned Rhosilli beach in all its splendour. We had a good breakfast and were ready to take on the world!

Weobley Castle |
We decided to look at some of the possible places we could go in the following days. We initially went to Port Einon and saw the good beach there together with two fish & chip shops - promising! Exploring castles is always great fun and we then tried to find Weobley castle on the north coast of the Gower. After

Rhosilli beach from Hill End |
then went to the other end of the beach at Hill End. We parked and made our way across dunes to the beach. Here we found a dingle very sheltered from the easterly wind and settled down for a touch of rest and sunbathing - very nice and a lovely flat beach. We stayed for a while and then it was time to make our way to where Ian and Ruth were staying. We looked as we approached and their car was in the drive and so we stopped and we reunited with them and their elder daughter and her family. Lots of chat and laughter followed and we were invited to dinner which was very good. Their younger daughter, Charlotte, had just flown in from LA and Ian eventually went to collect her from Swansea station. Their son Alexander was driving down from Manchester and arriving later. We decided to return to our base as Ian left and catch up with the other arrivals tomorrow. We slept well after a busy and long day.
Impressive view of the beach from your hotel; can just imagine the sea air! Val.
