Day 1 & 2 April 20th/21st St Martin's to Penzance to Crowthorne

fog in the morning, no St Mary's!
later on St Mary's appears

The day our holiday starts!  It was dry but foggy on St Martin's when we woke up and there definitely was no morning flying to the islands and we were pleased that we had booked to travel on the ferry.  Gradually the sky cleared as we went about our last minute jobs and packing.  As always there was the concern that we had packed everything we needed and done everything we had  supposed to do.  I went to collect the car as we were leaving on the Voyager from Lower
leaving St Martin's on the Voyager
Town at 0115 which was duly well loaded and after a quick sandwich we said goodbye to Button and made our way to the quay.

On St Mary's the Scillonian had arrived and we were able to deposit our luggage and met Heather and Alan for a cup of tea in the Kavorna.  We were joined by Christine's cousin Maggie and her partner who had arrived for a week's holiday on St Mary's.  there was lots of catching up but soon we had to leave for the 0315 boarding.  We then had a smooth comfortable, reasonably quick journey to Penzance and got a taxi to Heather an Alan's flat.  We deposited our luggage, went out for a quick meal and then sorted ourselves out for our one night stay.

Day 2

After a comfortable night we got ready for the morrow and as there was no wifi I tried to complete Day 1 on our train journey but had trouble with GWR wifi.  Our train journey went well apart from a delay outside Plymouth and John Kelly picked us up from Crowthorne station an hour after we originally planned.  We had a time of catch-up with John and Linda, a good walk with Connor in the local woods and then a very nice meal together.  Before we went to bed I checked us in for tomorrow's flight.  So a satisfactory day.
