Day -1 April 18th Almost ready to go

Rereading it, it looks as if yesterday's post was a bit technical and not very relevant but hopefully somebody may find it useful.   As the time approaches when we leave St Martin's we have to make sure everything is in place here to look after the cat and garden and that we collect together everything we need for our journeying.  What we have arranged to do is a full circle journey on the Rocky Mountaineer train beginning from Vancouver and then a 14 day Alaskan cruise from Seattle.  Really we have combined two good holidays but as they are in the same part of the world and both were on our "to do" list we decided to go for it.  In between we have three days in Seattle to explore what is we are told is a very attractive city.  We have arranged the holiday using a firm called Trailfinders and we will let you know if their recommendations work out.  We fly from Heathrow to Vancouver with BA on Sunday.

For those of you who have followed the blog over the years, you may recall that in 2016 we were staying in Raffles, Singapore on Chinese New Year and that I had videoed but not been able to get online the incredible lion dance which took place in the entrance hallway.  I have now used the handbrake programme to reduce the file size from !.7Gb to what the blog will accept.  I hope you like it!

  2. Hi Chris, great to see you're off again on your travels. Your plans for Canada look pretty good! We'll follow the blog with interest and hope you're flights go well. Sadly, the video link for Singapore wouldn't run (could be limitations at our end), but the bird feeder one did.

    Cheers, Val.
