Day 3 April 22nd Crowthorne to Vancouver

Linda, John and Connor

Sunday was another glorious day in Crowthorne.  It was warm, sunny and dry.  We had some thunderstorms and heavy rain overnight and so the atmosphere was less close.  We had slept well and came into the land of the living at a leisurely pace.

We breakfasted and while Christine, John and I chatted, packed etc , Linda took Connor for a nice walk.  We had some lunch together and John kindly took us to Heathrow for check-in at 1430.

We have now checked in and are waiting for the gate call and I shall have to complete this day's blog when we find wifi in Vancouver.

We have landed safely in Vancouver.  The flight was uneventful but there were some issues with the service which we will report back to BA.  We had booked premium economy which gives you wider seats with more legroom and other benefits.  We do not like the fact that if you want to book seats in advance you can do so by paying £50, we did not do this and the choice was very limited.  We got seats together but BA should learn from Singapore Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and other airlines where the media screens are much bigger, the food served is as per the published menu and the food is significantly better quality.  Anyhow the important thing was that we landed on time, a taxi was there to meet us and we were efficiently delivered to our hotel.  We have a city view room on the 19th floor and so we have a good view of what's around.

It is now the equivalent of 3am (10pm local time) and we have to get some sleep before the early start to catch the Rocky Mountaineer tomorrow.
