Day 2 October 9th Penzance to London

Most of today was spent with 

Exmouth looking across River Exe

Great Western Railways journey from Penzance to London Paddington.  We (Christine) had organised some food and drink for the journey yesterday and so all we had to was sit back, relax and let the train take the strain. It was one of the new Hitachi trains which meant that the ride was smooth although the seats aren't the most comfortable.  We lost some time when another train in front had some problems but these trains certainly motor and the time was made up by the time we got to London.  As always the journey was interesting with views of the coast and Dartmoor.  When we arrived at Paddington the tempo of the place was certainly greater than Scilly and we soon found ourselves whisked through the station, onto the underground and out at St Pancras where we are staying overnight in a Premier Inn.

We settled in, had a rather indifferent meal in the restaurant and prepared ourselves for the holiday which begins in earnest tomorrow.  The map shows the route we will be taking and we are now getting excited about what we will experience.  Tomorrow we travel to Frankfurt and how the journey goes will be tomorrow's story.
