Day 4 October 11th Frankfurt to Vienna

After a slightly uncomfortable

night healthwise we had to arise early again and be ready to leave our hotel by 0745.  We decided to forego breakfast and were packed and ready for the coach collecting us to take us to the rail station.  We were soon aboard the train and on our way for the first part of today's journey which finished in Munich.  The day

was fine with a lot of sun and clear views.  This part of the journey was not too interesting.  We arrived at Munich and had time to look around and watch several trains coming and going.  We found our platform and eventually joined an Austrian railjet.

The second part of the journey

through Bavaria and Austria was much more interesting with a rolling, sometimes mountainous, landscape with some large cities (Salzsburg and Linz) but also many pretty small villages with delightful churches.  Our train was slightly late by the time we arrived

at Vienna but we were soon coached to our hotel.  We had time to unpack and freshen up before a meal with some of our new found friends.
