Day 6 Wednesday March 4th Ornes and Bodo

Ornes
Another bright dry morning
sailor at Ornes
to continue our northward journey.  We had called at 3 places overnight but we were not disturbed too much.  We went to breakfast for the usual huge variety of things to choose - it ranged from typical English cooked, cereals, cheeses, ham,
leaving Ornes
fruit, toast and numerous other delights.  We were due
fishing at Ornes
to stay on board for the morning and so Christine decided to visit the laundry and I blogged sitting in the observation lounge which gives an impressive view of the surrounding fjords and mountains with snow.  Christine came and joined

me for a coffee.  We soon arrived at a small place called Ornes.  It is small
white tailed eagles
village with fishermen and the usual coastal activities.  As we approached we saw a white tailed (sea) eagle and then two swooping in the sky above us - I was lucky enough to get photos.  After stopping a short time we carried on along the coast to Bodo.  We were now again in fairly open sea and the boat did move a little but not enough to give us any issues.

Bodo street art
We soon arrived in the larger town of Bodo where
fishing street art
we did disembark for 2 hours.  It was cold but we were well clothed but snow and ice were everywhere and so we were careful as we walked.  We did not get lost!  We wanted to visit the cathedral and I had read that Bodo had been the
a street sculpture
centre of a street art festival a couple of years ago and we slowly followed a trail trying to see as many
more street art
as possible.  We found most but did not have time to find all of the exhibits.  The cathedral was a special place and we spent some time inside.  It was soon time to make our way back to the Richard With into the warmth.  We were soon underway and enjoying the views from the observation lounge with a hot drink.  The route took us towards the Lofoten Islands and late afternoon we docked and

some people went off on a tour.  We did not do this as we had previously toured Lofoten.  Later on we stopped at the

other end of the islands, Svolvaer, to pick them up.  We went on deck to look at the town but did not go ashore.  Our meal was interesting, one which we would not have chosen but we did enjoy it.
