We
entered over the bar to
get into the fjord at about 0930 and we had
breakfasted by then. It was a day of observing from our balcony for
most of the scenery and action. We soon encountered small icebergs
from the glacier and there were the usual
spectacular mountains and
waterfalls. We approached the glacier through the narrow fjord very
gently –
presumably the rules and captain did not want to create a
wash. He had made a good decision and we were able to turn around
fairly close to the face of the glacier.

Towards the end of the fjord a couple of black bears were spotted on the bank, the captain stopped and everyone was able to get some good pictures. Black bears are not always black they can be brown or a lighter straw colour – we are almost certain these are black bears. For a day at sea it had proved to be very interesting with some great photo opportunities.
We
exited the fjord over the bar at about 1730 and then had time to sort
ourselves out and get ready for dinner. I probably won't post tomorrow as we are on an all day excursion which does not finish until the evening.
Great footage of the bears ! Thanks for all the posts it's great to see all that you are up too - Love Ros x
